A hot and hectic day.

Wednesday, March 29, 2006

Today was a good day. Quite peaceful and calm. There was nothing much to do at office. DM sahib went some where on Out-Door and that was the actual reason of peace. After lunch, Tauseef (my colleague) and I did nothing except gossiping, taking tea and eating biscuits.

T: Raja Gidhh perhay baghair Engineering kerna Mushkil Hay …

GH: hmm?

T: kia khayaal hay?

GH: Zamana-e-college may hi perh chuka hoon .... Mayri to F.Sc. hee Mushkil ho gaey thi … : P

T: ;(

T joined a month ago. The way he is blackening the pages of his diary, I am sure, very soon he will be in a position to publish his one dozen books all together.

Khair …..

Do you remember the character Mr. Hunter of ‘Bugs Bunny Show’ – A man who always chases the bunny with a double-barrel in his hands?

Wondering? Us ka zikar kiyon? That hunter laughs like a man who sits besides me in the office van. :)

Came back to home. Found the room a bit mucky. Thought to get it done myself, meanwhile my mother entered the room.

Ajj khod kaam karnay ka khayal kaisay aa gaya….?

Before I could reply, my brother poked from somewhere ….. Commander Safe Guard nay kaha hay. :(

When Love Happens ....

Yesterday, at office, I was flipping through an assignment on control valves (They are used to control the flow of a liquid in a control system). It was submitted by a trainee engineer back in 1997. On one page I found this:

Catalyst EG (Ethylene Glycol) flow is controlled by the control valve # 03.002

Mass Flow Love ……… Valve opens.

Mass Flow High ……… Valve closes.

Actually valve opens on low mass flow.

Where was his mind wandering while penning down these conclusions????

*GH smiles and then clicks ‘Publish’*

Aha … Salam! Hope that everybody is fine and enjoying his/her time in this blog sphere.

On a lighter and a funnier note: Yours truly is still alive!

There were many things that kept me away from blogging – Loads of office work, poor telephone service of PTCL that didn’t let me sign in from home and Hepatitis-A which kept me away from all sorts of activities for about two weeks from the beginning of this month. And now some problem in Blogspot service – I am unable to identify what sort of ban is this. Access to every page is denied. Do you know how I am accessing your pages?

Just like this:

http://www.pkblogs.com/blogname

Direct access is not possible.

Nothing is changed on this blog front from publishing posts, waiting for feedback from readers, religiously reading favorite blogs to aimlessly clicking the blog links in the sidebars – things are the same.

But there is one thing- I missed ya all; Dingle Days by Hani, optimistic posts by Raheel, lively stuff from Khwab, Aamanna’s poetry, goings-on on Asma Mirza’s blog, FM’s wittiness and MariaBeez blog that I rarely visit … winks*

From now on I hope I will be regular in updating and reading your blogs.

Adios

Extremely tragic news: I have just come to know that one of my juniors (and class fellow of my brother) was shot dead by the robbers today morning at 6 am in Bahawalpur - when he was returning back to university from home.

Inalillah he wa inaa Ilaeyhe rajeyon.

Very sad. And now they have taken his dead body back to Haripur. I am trying to contact my friends there but nobody is attending the call right now.

May Allah Almighty forgive all his sins and rest his soul in peace.
Please do offer Fateha at least once for him.

Power Sundays

Good Morning folks! Wake up! The early crimson rays of sun have just moved forward from the green leaves of Rubber Plant placed in your car porch! Sundays are not meant for sleeping.
Isn’t the odor of steaming hot mug of coffee enough to open your eyes? Push the blanket aside, slide the heavy curtains off the windows and open the door of your terrace to let the light and fresh air enter into your room.

Hey! Why are you staring at me with your angry face and blood red eyes? Are you angry for being disturbed so early in the morning? Oh … No … No … don’t try to throw that heavy ashtray towards me. Look at the clock; it is about to strike 10 on the dial. Cool down and sip your coffee. Just have a look at your neighbor’s door. In the morning they have washed their car. And now are you seeing the fruit baskets in their hands? Perhaps they are leaving for a picnic.
At this point I noticed a sparkle appearing in his eyes. He picked up the phone and dialed a number.
Umm where are you dialing buddy?
Just to make a picnic program with friends, he replied promptly.
Great!
The jinnee wishes him a full-of-fun Sunday, waves his hand and a smoky cloud disappears in the air.

Thanks … he smiled, took the last sip of coffee that was getting cold and left the bed to get ready for the picnic!

My Random Wish: Would that I had been on Karachi’s beach today.

A Stroy

There is this Fisherman, let's call him Salman.

Salman goes out fishing each morning, casts his net and gathers his catch and sells them in the market and makes a living out of it. On one occasion he gets up too early and sleep eludes him. So he decides to go fishing any way it's too dark to go fishing so he strolls by the Bank of the River and waits for the Sun to appear he stumbles upon a sack. This sack is a bit heavy and there were some pebbles in it. Now, when u have a river and a sack of pebbles and a lot of time to kill, the logical thing to do is to throw the pebbles into the river. Salman did just the same. He tried all the things we do Throwing it as far as possible, as high as possible, make the pebbles bounce as many times an possible.....Now with just one stone remaining, the sun rose the stone in his hand began to glow as well damn! The stone was a diamond!!!! That's when he realized that all those pebbles he had thrown away were actually Precious Stones!!!

End of Story!

Moral is: Don't get up too early in the morning :-)

After many days of absence from blog I am back now. I had been to bahawalpur to attend my cousin’s wedding ceremony. It was quite fun there. (Don’t read 'funny')

Akhir bakray ki shadi ho he gaey…. Kab tak khair manta.

Life is pretty busy yaro. The person who said life is not a bed of roses – Sacha tha woh.

Apun to job kar kay phans gaya. I reached back from BWP last Monday at 2 am (It takes 7 hours by road to reach Lahore) and the worst thing was I had to reach office the very same morning at 8 am. Yukkk.

Marta kia na karta …. I had to go. Reached office cursing myself for I hadn’t any leave in my balance to avail.

HoD bhi koi jalad hai. Absents are strictly prohibited.

Today is Sunday and folks believe me they are a real blessing.

Khair …. Yesterday night I broke one leg of my specs. I had a very bad habit of throwing them on my bed --- Akhir kab tak yay sab chalta????

They came under the weight of my arm and lost their shape – such a delicate frame it was. While attempting to bring them in shape again, I broke one of the legs. :-S

Thanks to Allah, I had a spare one; otherwise it was not less than a fatigue to ruin the Sunday for a pair of specs in bazaar.

Moral: Keep your specs with care; don’t throw them on your bed just like you throw the towels or magazines on your bed.

TC : -)

PS: i have just discovered that a 10 rupees note in my pocket has two different numbers .. lol

One number is GBL1027274 and other is CBV7214729. I went to the shop to purchase milk where the shopkeeper just noticed it .... ooay jaali note????? And returned it back!!!

Eid-e-Qurbaan

Yesterday i came to know what does it mean to do a continuous duty of 14 hours :(

Friday, January 06, 2006

[1] Two times a week, we go to a nice restaurant, have a little beverage, good food and companionship. She goes on Tuesdays, I go on Fridays.

[2] We also sleep in separate beds.Hers is in California and mine is in Texas.

[3] I take my wife everywhere.....But she keeps finding her way back.

[4]I asked my wife where she wanted to go for our anniversary."Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said.So I suggested the kitchen.

[5]We always hold hands. If I let go, she shops.

[6]She has an electric blender, electric toaster and electric bread maker. She said "There are too many gadgets and no place to sit down!".....So I bought her an electric chair.

[7]My wife told me the car wasn't running well because there was water in the carburetor.I asked where the car was; she told me "In the lake."

[8]She got a mud pack and looked great for two days. Then the mud fell off.

[9]She ran after the garbage truck, yelling "Am I too late for the garbage?"....The driver said "No, jump in!"

[10]Remember:Marriage is the number one cause of divorce.

I married Miss Right.I just didn't know her first name was Always.

[11]I haven't spoken to my wife in 18 months.I don't like to interrupt her.

[12]The last fight was my fault though. My wife asked "What's on the TV?"I said "Dust!"
